Dedicated to serving the needs of each individual child, Bedford's teachers, administrators, board and parents work together to achieve excellence through diversity .Strong community support has allowed the district to offer high quality programming, supported by excellent facilities, materials, and staff. The parents find that five elementary schools, a middle school and high school offer a variety of teaching and learning styles which are tailored to individual student needs.

A strong district-wide curriculum and high academic standards provide solid and challenging educational programs. Last year, over 91% of Fox Lane High School's seniors went on to two and four year colleges. The Fox Lane Middle School has been cited by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the country's outstanding middle schools.

Teacher involvement in decision-making and goal-setting reinforces the district's commitment to excellence. A diverse student body creates an enriching environ- ment for students preparing for their lives in the world. Bedford's commitment is to promoting access to academic excellence and equity for all students. In connection with strengthening the partnership among home, school and community, outreach programs in parenting and adolescent life are provided by the district.

The district offers wide-ranging extracurricular activities, including strong interscholastic athletic programs, as well as theater and music programs, clubs, and other offerings, which involve community, students and others in them.
