Westchester Land Trust The Westchester Land Trust, founded in 1988, is dedicated to protecting open space and promoting responsible land use throughout Westchester County, New York. Bedford Audubon Society The Bedford Audubon Society promotes conservation and protection of wildlife habitats in the northern Westchester County and eastern Putnam County region through education, advocacy, nature study and bird watching. Westmoreland Sanctuary A 625-acre nature preserve with 8 miles of hiking trails, a variety of organized activities, and environmental education programs. Trails open dawn to dusk. The Henry Morgenthau Preserve The preserve is set along the shoreline of Blue Heron Lake and includes within its boundaries a portion of the lake, a small island, a number of wetland areas, a small pond, vernal pools and several small streams.
