The Ancient Order of Hibernians , Division 16 was formed on September 13, 1891 and comprises Roman Catholic men of Irish descent living in the Northern Westchester County area. The Division sponsors the annual Northern Westchester County St. Patrick's Day Parade which features over forty five marching units , such as Irish bagpipe bands, Irish step dancers, military marching bands, military reanactor organizations, and many community organizations. The Division supports many area charitable organizations and has donated over $120,926 since 1992. The Ancient Order of Hibernians orginated in NYC in 1836. The A.O.H. faced a growing tide of religious hatred and mob violence. The A.O.H. famously defended the original St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC from being burned down.The Division meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the American Legion in Mount Kisco, NY at 7 p.m.
