Boy Scout Troop 129, Bedford Village

Dr. Gary Cohn
509 Bedford Center Rd.
Bedford Hills, NY 10507

Boy Scout Troop 129 meets weekly on Friday evening at 6:45 PM at the Bedford Village Firehouse. The troop had not been functioning for a period of time and reorganized under Troop 129 about five years ago. In addition to regular meeting, boys participate in monthly camp-outs, service projects and attend scout camp for a week each summer. Some of their projects have included work on the trails at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, for the Bedford Riding Lanes and also help with the town clean up sponsored by the Chowder and Marching Club. The scouts work diligently on merit badges, working toward the rank of Eagle Scout. Recently the troop hiked from the Tappan Zee Bridge to the George Washington Bridge. They have also visited Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts and spent the night aboard one of the ships. Attending football games and hockey games at West Point is also of special interest to the troop.
